The door stiles and rails are made from straight grain Hemlock with manmade grooved centre panels for the authentic "Cottage Style" look.

This is a solid, heavy, door, not to be confused with mass produced "egg box" construction types. These off-the-shelf models are usually only available in 4 or 5 standard sizes so this is a chance to bag an oversize door at a competitive price.

It has been primed with a high quality, spray-applied, primer ready for the application of the finish of your choice on site.

The door is supplied complete with a double glazed insulated unit featuring leaded detailing and an attractive bevelled diamond in the centre.

we make a new style and put it up for sale to gauge customer reaction.

The door is made from straight grain Hemlock with manmade raised and fielded lower panels. It has been primed with a high quality, spray-applied, primer ready for the application of the finish of your choice on site.

The glazing apertures will take up to 20mm deep units, sized 177mm x 1103mm (tight size) and are supplied with beading.

We can supply the door complete with the glazing of your choice and/or a frame if required - please enquire for prices.

If you are sourcing your own glazing, you will need to subtract around 5mm from the tight sizes but please check this with your glazier.

A few weeks ago, we listed a door which had been made the wrong size in the workshop. At the time, I foolishly said that we don't do this often - I should have kept my big mouth shut!
 
It's now your chance to grab another bargain! Selling price was £990.00 incl. VAT so you could save £510.00.The door will reduce slightly in the width and height so we can achieve a standard 78" (6'6"). Width is currently just shy of 33".
 
The door is manaufactured from solid European Oak with a single cricket bat lower panel. It has been hand-made using mortice and tenon construction with the panels grooved into the stiles and rails for security and durability.
 
The glazing apertures will take 20mm units and are supplied with timber bead. We can supply the door complete with the glazing of your choice and/or a frame if required - please enquire for prices. You are also free to source your own glazing if you prefer.

A "proof of concept", it was craftsmen made here in our workshop using solid (not engineered) Douglas Fir with a manmade panel.

Traditional mortice & tenon joints throughout ensure a solid, durable door. Supplied with a coat of high quality spray-applied primer for the application of your chosen finish on site.

Although it is a truely stunning design, the reason it won't be introduced into our standard range is that the amount of work involved would make the list price rather more than we would wish.

If you like the design, we would be pleased to quote for other timbers (red hardwood or oak).

We occasionally make "proof of concept" examples of designs dreamt up by our team here at The Original Big Old Doors (usually as the result of too much cheese too close to bed time)

This door is the result of just such an exercise. It was craftsmen made here in our workshop using solid (not engineered) European Oak for the rails and stiles with manmade panels faced with an oak veneer. Traditional mortice & tenon joints throughout ensure a solid, durable door.

Ideally suited for internal use in an apartment or within an enclosed porch, this door has aluminium portholes glazed with clear 10mm toughened glass on both sides.
